There is something really special about a wedding day that feels completely true to the couple. James and Kendall’s Kualoa Ranch Paliku Gardens wedding was exactly that. From the moment I arrived, the whole day felt relaxed and intentional. Even better, James and Kendall were such a genuinely sweet couple, which made photographing their wedding such a joy!
Of course, Hawaii had other plans for us that day. It rained! However, instead of letting the weather take over, James and Kendall simply went with it. There was never that frantic feeling you sometimes get when rain changes the timeline. Instead, everything felt so calm and peaceful.

At Kualoa Ranch Paliku Gardens, the scenery already does so much of the work. So when the rain started coming down, James and Kendall did not need to force anything. They just enjoyed being together!
That made my job feel incredibly natural. Rather than worrying about getting every single photo exactly as planned, we could focus on what was actually happening in front of us. Their interactions felt genuine, and I loved being able to photograph those quieter moments. The rain also gave the day this soft, almost cinematic feeling. Everything felt a little slower. As a photographer, those are the moments I love most!

As a photographer, Kualoa Ranch Paliku Gardens is such a beautiful setting to work in. The property has this incredible sense of place, so photographs can feel connected to Hawaii rather than simply looking like they were taken at a pretty venue. Most importantly, the venue gave us room to let the day breathe. I never want couples to feel like they are spending their wedding day constantly posing for photos. Instead, I want to create space for real moments to happen and then be ready when they do.
