Deirdre + Justin planned the most romantic intimate vineyard wedding that so perfectly reflected the love that they share (even the venue choice has sentimental value in the history of their relationship!) I asked them to share a bit of their story for us and this is what they said:
The love story
“Our love story is quite the unconventional one, as our journey began as colleagues working for Dignity Health (St. Joseph’s Medical Center) ⎼ Deirdre as a registered dietitian and Justin as the director of Food & Nutrition. In fact, the first day we met, Justin barely even turned from his desk to shake my hand. The intrigue began that day. We continued to work closely together for almost two years as our friendship developed. We would take little walks to the Starbucks across the street sometimes, on weekend Justin even came to sit with me at lunch (gasp!). But in all seriousness our connection grew and developed the longer we worked together, it was hard to deny even from coworkers around us. When I eventually transferred to work at another Dignity Health hospital, Justin asked me on a date to go wine tasting and the rest is history!

“It sounds so cliché, but it felt like fate aligned for us and we were meant-to-be together. Who knew that a Midwest girl would fall in love with a born & raised Californian. Many memories later, we tasted our way through the wines of Napa Valley and Lodi, cooked (mostly Justin), gardened (mostly Deirdre), and explored the neighborhood with our Australian Shepherd ‘Buddy’. We even traveled to Minnesota, where Justin experienced the simple joys of Midwest brews, ‘Lake Life,’ and a good old fashioned fish fry. At the beginning of 2020 (January 26th to be exact) on ‘National Spouses Day’, Justin popped the question sharing a bottle of wine under the beloved Oak Tree at Bokisch Vineyards (one of our favorites!) and of course I said “yes!”
We are so looking forward to starting this new chapter together and we cannot wait to celebrate with all of our favorite people in one of our favorite local vineyards in Northern California ⎼ where our love story began.”
