Carl reached out to us a few months prior to their Kauai vacation with a secret plan in mind. He wanted to make his proposal to Katie extra special. The lush landscapes of Kauai provided the perfect backdrop for their love story! It was amazing capturing this special moment for Carl and Katie!

The day began with anticipation and excitement as Carl and Katie embarked on a 2-3 hour photo shoot. We started our journey at the 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay Kauai, where the stunning beauty of the surroundings added an ethereal touch to their engagement! As the day unfolded, we made our way to Tunnels Beach. This location is absolutely gorgeous for engagement photos. Since Carl booked my longer engagement session, it gave us plenty of time to track down the perfect spot for sunset photos! The golden hour on Kauai is unmatched, and these photos prove it!
Carl + Katie’s Love Story
“Katie and I met ~3 years when we were living in different cities and she visited friends in Austin. She moved to Austin ~2.5 years ago where we started talking and then started dating right as I was signing a lease to live in Santa Monica for a year. We did a year long distance and I moved back to Austin and we moved in together a year ago! I’m 31 and Katie is 30. We love our two dogs, Bo & Moose, and really enjoy traveling, particularly to places where we can really adventure for most of the time, and then have a couple of “treat yourself” days! We’re getting to Kauai on 10/6 and doing some hiking out of Princeville for a couple of days, then staying at 1Hotel for 1 night (10/9) before heading to Poipu beach for a couple of nights and heading home. Katie hates surprises and I am trying to organize a “surprise but she likely knows whats happening” engagement during the time we’re in Princeville / at 1hotel!” -Carl
