Caitlin and Shane flew out from Seattle to elope in one the BEST NATIONAL PARKS (in my opinion!) If not the best park, then at least the best national park to elope in! There’s something just so incredibly special about a Yosemite elopement. If you’ve had the chance to take a trip out there, then you know that incredible sense of wonder when you see the mighty rocks like Half Dome towering in the distance. Or the enchanting trails that lead you through forests up to waterfalls and lookouts that take your breath away. I love being able to go on these adventures with my clients, and having the privilege of telling their story amidst the beauty of our national parks. It never gets old!

The story

We started off with a first look on the valley floor of the park, then wandered around the fields taking portraits of the two love birds before they said I do. From there we drove up Glacier Point Road and set out on the trail to their ceremony spot at Sentinel Dome. As that glorious golden hour began, Caitlin and Shane exchanged the sweetest vows with that warm California sun lighting up the landscape. We then took the dreamiest portraits of the new Mr. and Mrs. as the sun set behind them. Caitlin’s veil made for the most romantic bridal shots, and some of my favorite Yosemite elopement portraits ever! The day wouldn’t have been complete with that celebratory champagne pop and a cheers for newly weds. As the sunset turned to dusk, Caitlin did a quick change and put on the coolest custom Mrs. leather jacket!

PS: If you want to elope in Yosemite, it’s important to note that they have construction coming next year. As stated by the NPS – access to Glacier Point will be limited to a few strenuous hikes. That means you will not be able to drive road from spring-fall 2022 and 2023! But don’t worry, there are plenty of other epic elopement locations to consider in Yosemite!
