This Santa Cruz Beach Engagement is one for the books, and Kristin and Connor chose THE BEST location for their session! Not only because it was the most romantic spot for a golden hour beach shoot, but because it was also sentimental to them as a couple. This gorgeous beach on the central coast of California is where they had their first date!! How special is that?? This inspired me to write a few tips on how to choose a location for you engagement shoot!

Tip 1

Choose somewhere that means something to you two! Just like Kristin and Connor chose their first date spot, pick somewhere sentimental! It doesn’t have to be somewhere epic or even outdoors! Could be a coffee shop where you first met, the park where you spent time at, or doing some activity you love doing together like surfing or hiking!

Tip 2

Pick a place that you are comfortable with! If you’re not a beach person, that’s okay! But don’t choose a location or activity that is only going to cause you more stress. We want you to have a fun experience with your honey so we can capture genuine moments with you feeling your truest self.

Tip 3

Make it an adventure! If the location you choose is out of town, make it a long weekend date! Book an Airbnb, spend some time the day before or after to relax and explore the area. Making the whole experience something to look forward to and make the most of the time away.
