Taft Point and Glacier Point Road

If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ve probably seen a lot of photos from Yosemite National Park, especially Taft Point and Glacier Point. They’re two of my favorite spots in the park and very popular elopement locations. For sunset I like the lighting at Taft Point the best. While Glacier Point is best for sunrise. But before you get too excited and start planning your engagement shoot or elopement there, I have some sad news.. This was one of my last shoots at either Taft Point or Glacier Point for a while. The road you take to get to both of those spots will be closed through 2023! They will be doing construction to rehabilitate and improve the road. So from now until they finish, the only way to get to either Taft Point or Glacier point is by a long strenuous hike.

Alex + Chase’s Story

“Chase and I are graduate students at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming. Chase is an archeologist and I’m a social psychologist. We love learning (big nerds), Harry Potter, traveling, and music. We met in at a college football game and then we occasionally saw each other around. Chase and I were both in relationships at the time, but always enjoyed our interactions when they happened. Chase is pretty private about his troubles (he defers to optimism), but for some reason, he was always spilling his guts when we barely knew each other. Then, we were both single. Romance struck when Chase slid into my Facebook DMs to wish me a happy new year (on January 17th…suspicious). We haven’t stopped talking since. Within a month we loved each other. Chase is a hopeless romantic, he’s very affectionate, and I’m more of a realist. Beware, cheese: but he makes me feel like ours is a love to choose for a lifetime.”
